New Look

I felt the need for a makeover and though I was slightly inclined to go with a celestial theme, as in keeping with the title of this blog, I went for this pretty wallpaper instead. I like wallpaper on nearly anything but a wall. Oh yes, here's a couple of pics from today.

So I was just supporting him, let go for the pic.

She was "reading" to V, if you can see him through the mesh.

Scoot

Back to School

Second grade! I put him on the bus this morning, got a little choked up...are they ever not your little boy/girl anymore?

This was J's hat and i have one where he looks just like J in it, but I like this one of all my boys.

We had outside church last Sunday and guess who volunteered to get up and help act out the story?

Guess who loves chocolate like her mommy?

we interrupted their conversation...

Back In the Saddle

Yes I was literally back in the saddle. For those of you that don't know, I used to ride and show horses back in my prime, ha ha. It was a big part of my life though I don't believe I was as near as good as my Grandma Linda. It was a fun time then and last Saturday a d's cousin's wife took me riding. It's been at least 6 years or so. Needless to say my tooshy was incredibly sore, but Connie said we could do it again and time permitting I will. I want to take E next time.

This is Harley. We had to have a bit of a who's the boss warm up, but once I remembered what I was doing and he realized it we were fine.

Me, Melvin and Connie.

This sweet kitten was rolling around behind Harley's feet and playing with his tail, so cute.

J had Connie's eldest over for a sleepover the night before and then played with him the whole next day. They had a blast!

attempted craft

SO I had this fabulous idea of trying out a craft that I saw on some other blog (this woman actually creates collage art). SO I have it all set up and my sweet son spills a whole cup of juice over most of the supplies. "I'm sorry mommy , I didn't mean to!", he cries with all sincerity. "I know honey, I know." If you know me, then you know that I DO know. SO I prepared some more heads grabbed some more paper and then I had to feed the baby, and by the time I got back to them E was over it and had already plastered her paper full with random magazine cuttings. I made her do another one with heads and she reluctantly obliged. J had left room for them and got quite into it. I think another time E might. I personally had fun!

the things they say

E: Mommy, do you know that the Lord is Jesus?

J: Mom, I love star wars, and I love legos. When you put them together you get star wars legos wii.

J: (in reference to V) oh mom his head is so warm (as he snuggles up to it)

E: Mommy, I have something to tell you that is nice....I love you.

beach

(I did 3 posts today so keep on scrolling!)

I was so thankful to finally get to go to the beach this year, on Saturday. We left around 5:30am and got there about 8:30. The weather was perfect, the kids had a blast, and the baby did quite satisfactory (for a baby spending all day at a beach). There was only one point I nearly freaked and started to tear up when some people came and parked right in front of us (this is not part of CA beach etiquette). Dennis did not seemed phased by this and reminded me that this was the beach and there were going to be other people there. I did know this, but I didn't like it. SO I said many quiet prayers for a changed attitude and it eventually came. As the day went on the beach became so packed (i guess this is normal for beaches here, they are smaller and there are less of them) that I decided to take the kids for a walk to look for sea shells. The Lord blessed me by taking us to a part of the beach that had hardly anyone else. So we went back for the boogie board (I mostly dragged them on it) and walked back to the less populated stretch. It was so beautiful , I really felt able to quietly worship and soak up the God's creation, and watch the kids play in the waves.

First time in the Atlantic.

He was totally fascinated with the sand, moving his arms back and forth in it...

and trying to eat it. (at one point he opened his mouth and plopped his face right in it)

He spent a good part of the day in here and even napped for a couple hours.

I have never seen such a crowded beach!

The rest of the pics were taken when the kids and I walked down to a section of the beach that was less crowded, I LOVED it, my favorite part of the day.
