last week through today

Finally doing some catch up on here.....

Last Friday J had a cousin sleepover so E and I had a girl's night out and went to see The Princess and the Frog using some of a gift card we received for Christmas. She seemed to be having fun and she said she like the movie, but when I asked her if she had a good time..."not really." That's my girl.

The next day we headed down to the farm for some sledding and dinner w/ Den's fam.

E is next to Matilda, Ava is holding her very own snowgirl, and J and I made a snow kitty.

Prepare yourself....Den took me for a night time snow mobile ride so I wanted to look my best and stay warm...ladies please do yourself a favor and shield your husband's eyes....

BAM!! Oh yes, I know how to work those coveralls.

Sister in law Denise said I looked like a teletubby.

(In my defense I'm wearing a puffy jacket underneath the coveralls)

Then came Sunday and it was another sunny day, and not really that cold. Den went out with the kids and built a snow fort so the could have a snowball fight.

He built up the walls higher after he dug this hole, but this gives you an idea of how deep the snow drifted during the first couple storms.

He like the tunnel until his hat fell off.

This video has is one of those "wait for it...." moments. Yes V is adorable on the slide, but wait and listen for J hitting Den w/ a snowball.

Here we are today...another snow day because the roads are drifting so bad. It is snowing, but not really sticking where we are. V is starting to get into the trains so J and Daddy built him a track. Den was home today so he also built the kids a great fort, we watched Marty Stouffer's Wild America while I snoozed on the couch, and now he has taken the the two older ones to the gym so I am getting as much done as I possible can while V is still sleeping!

This last one is especially for Grandma Linda...who knows that every 2yr old needs a giant chocolate heart.

outdoors....

Checking out a very pretty but very dead dragonfly.

These are a little grainy as I am trying to figure out some things on my camera.

They both wanted to take a picture, I suppose you can figure out who took which. E says "I don't care if he pulls my hair." I wonder how long that will last.

Before any locals attack me for this, let me say that I asked Martha (pictured above) if photos were against the rules, and her answer was, "no it's just that amish people don't have cameras". She said it was fine for friends to take pictures. I have been told by my husbands family that her mom might have a different answer, but it's not like I'm a tourist or anything. I promise not to turn any pics of their family into postcards and sell them.

They are playing with clear marbles that they found in the garage. They dumped them in the wheelbarrow and filled it with water. Then they dumped it and had a blast trying to find them.

Saturday we spent the afternoon at the farm and we were able to finally meet...

Joash David...I wish i would have taken a pic of his hands, they are huge!

First ride on a quad.

Trying to catch frogs in mom mom's pond.

Success!

J was actually driving this! (on daddy's lap of course)

also took some pretty pics of a butterfly, check it out here

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Our Christmas was peaceful and pleasant.

Sunday morning before Christmas.

Christmas Eve was spent at D's parents with his sibling and all the cousins. The kids acted out the Christmas story while Uncle Michael read the account from Luke.

We then went home and did the tradition of opening one gift which is always Christmas pj's.

Christmas morning was different as it was our first time to stay home and not have anyone else around. It was quiet, but so nice to have a whole day just us with nothing else to do but enjoy each other. For breakfast we had an egg casserole and stuffed french toast (which is becoming a Christmas breakfast tradition).

Thank's Grandma and Grandpa!

Thank you Uncle John and Aunt Kristina!

J's "big gift" from us was an archery set (suction cup of course). He loved it and even let sister give it a try. She caught one right away, which of course made daddy very proud. (He's wearing a Happy Birthday Jesus crown that he got from church)

E's "big gift" was a dollhouse that we "commissioned" from D's grandfather. D and I painted it, which was fun for me to play interior decorator ;) I don't know what the goofy smile is all about down below.

Thank you Grandma Linda! We bought our first books and still have $$ left to go back for more!

SO, now that Christmas is past we are in baby prep mode. D has assembled the crib and as you can see he had plenty of help. It's been wonderful to see the Lord provide. On New Year's Eve we went to visit friends and they gave us a car seat, bouncy seat and bath tub. All of which I needed! Now we can technically have the baby though there are a few things I'd still like to get done.

Just wanted to show off my hubby helping out by doing a little cleaning. What a guy, huh?

These are a couple other pics of the kids that we took the day we took our Christmas card shot.

My man.
