Right away the boys were off looking for creatures and building them habitats in buckets. This was a salamander that was trying to escape before his photo shoot.

The Family That Camps Together.....
Sunday of Labor Day weekend we decided to camp in the woods on Den's parents land. We did this with all his siblings, and a cousin and all their kids (minus 2 babies). Everyone made the same comment when they arrived, "all this stuff for just one night!" But if it was more than one night, the only thing we would have brought more of was food. Overall it was a success and we might just do it again.

While Uncle Dave was searching under a rock for a hidden key to his trailer, Aunt Gina spotted this copperhead snake and saved his life. He took care of it and brought it to show the kids.

Easter, etc.

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter. My tulips bloomed just in time to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior.
First things first. I made E's Easter dress this year. Yes, I am proud. But really it was simple and fun. I even used extra fabric to cover a headband to match.
Our morning started out at a brunch at church. Don't you love the look I'm getting from my daughter?
How handsome is my V?
The picture doesn't really do it justice, but I put flowers on the cross in front of the church and I was really pleased with how it turned out.
J and his buddy Wes.
V was ticked with the the bunny he got from Grandma Linda.
We colored eggs Friday night.
Saturday was pouring, and friends invited us to go bowling. Let it be known that i still suck at it. Only twice, when I threw the ball did I NOT get a gutter ball.
But the kids loved it.
V has taken up singing with our microphone. It cracks me up that he know what to do with it, because there are no batteries in it.
One sunny day we took him outside and he just wandered around "talking" the entire time with hand gestures. It must have been something important.
One not so sunny day we had hail. This was one of the bigger pieces that Den heroically ran out to get for us.

slugs
We were at Den's mom's last Friday for dinner. She was keeping some kids of friends for the weekend, the sweetest girls ever. They act very grown up and are very polite (they also have a little brother that they take excellent care of) and you begin to wonder if they are real. It was drizzling but we let the kids out anyway and they started hunting for slugs! You should have seen these girls, definitely real.

spider was chilling out, hanging from the middle of the porch, i tried to avoid it but still managed to walk through a part of his web and it was following me and I did a screechy dance and the baby (who was being held by someone else) did not like it
