Corn Maize

Last Saturday we used one of J's library summer reading program awards and went to a corn maze. Honestly it was kind of a rinky dink operation, but the kids loved it. We went with some friends from church. Two of their kids are the same age as J & E, and they are also pregnant with #4.



D was our fearless leader. The snazzy glasses revealed an aerial type view of the maze. He drew a line with a crayon to make our way through. We finished in 20-30 min.




J liked to think he was showing us which way to go.

There were other things to do there like...

pony rides on worn out pony named Snowflake,





pedal powered go-carts in which the kids feet couldn't reach the pedals so the dads pushed them around,


and a tractor/train ride.

Country Fair

We just had 2 local fairs come and go. They are quinitessential Country Fairs. Strictly animals, booths and food. No carnival rides, etc. The first one we went to J called it "just a walking fair" since there were no rides. The second fair we went to he was more adjusted to the idea of walking around and enjoying the animals.


A highlight for the kids is all the farm equipment that becomes a playground. This particular model is what daddy is requesting for Christmas.



E's favorite part was holding the chicks, she LOVES animals.

We got a new minivan.....it has my favorite feature stow n' go! The kids like the automatic doors, which I confess will be most handy when the new addition arrives.





E likes to ride her bike with Leroy James, our youngest neighbor. (J used to say Liver James)




Last summer flowers

School

This month has brought school! J is now in the 1 st grade, at school all day and rides the bus both ways! He loves it and is doing great.

E started preschool this week. She goes 2x a week for 2 1/2 hours. Today was her second day and I'm sure it will go as well as the first.

CA Part 2

We finished up the trip at my parents house. We had plenty of pool time, and it was great to see the kids grow in their swimming skills. We also made sure that we loaded up on Mexican food and hit my favorite local ice cream spot. We fly back tomorrow!

4th of July

I know the 4th is quite past but I had to share these just the same. We spent the actual 4th with D's parents and some friends. The following saturday we went to fireworks.
